The Garden Club is dedicated to fostering a passion for gardening, horticulture, and environmental stewardship. Our mission encompasses several key initiatives: enhancing public spaces through thoughtful landscaping, advocating for the conservation of natural resources and wildlife in the Niagara region, and facilitating engaging meetings focused on horticultural practices. We promote the planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers in both public and private areas.

About Us
We are affiliated with the Ontario Horticultural Association, which has led Ontarians in all things horticultural since 1906.
There are 19 Districts, with 285 local societies and over 40,000 members.
Grimsby Garden Club has more than 100 garden club members who contribute hundreds of hours a year to public service.

February 26 Marilyn Cornwell - Ontario Gardens for Day Visits Marilyn Cornwell is a gardener and photographer living in Grimsby Ontario. After changing her career path in 2009 from IT and advertising to photography, Marilyn has devoted herself to understanding the relationship between great garden design and great photography.

March 26 George Scott - Bees and Gardens A registered beekeeper for more than 25 years, George is a passionate advocate for beekeeping as a crucial component for Ontario’s agricultural success, now and in the future. He is a member of the Niagara Beekeepers Association. In 2001, he founded the Niagara Beeway, dedicated to the protection and preservation of Niagara’s honey bee populations. George believes that the survival and health of the beekeeping industry is pivotal and is totally aligned to the mandate and concerns of the OFA at many levels. An expert on chemical pesticides, George is an active liaison with industry and agriculture in exploring new and alternative pesticide strategies and is a frequent lobbyist to industry and government to promote dialogue and understanding.
April 30 Theresa Forte - Colour Throughout the Year Theresa Forte is a garden columnist, photographer and speaker with a passion for gardens that reflect the changing seasons with grace. Her illustrated column, Your Garden, now in its 26th year, appears in the Saturday edition of the St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune newspapers, and the Monday edition of the Hamilton Spectator. More than just a ‘how to’ column, Theresa explores the benefits, joys and occasional tribulations of home gardening, along with profiling private and public gardens with a story to share.
May 28 Jim Lounsbury - Dwarf and Unusual Evergreens As the founder of Vineland Nurseries, Jim has specialized in unusual plants for over 35 years. He has taught horticultural courses all over Ontario.
June 25 Expert Panel - Ask Those Burning Questions! We are fortunate to have many members who are happy to share their experience and gardening wisdom. These panels are always interesting and appreciated by the audience.
